Saliu Mustapha covers medical bills for Oja-Oba accident victims

In an unfortunate accident today, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Oja-Oba market in Ilorin, Kwara State, a vehicle of the Nigerian Correctional Service (formerly Nigerian Prison Service) was involved in a collision with members of the public, including motorcycle riders.

The aftermath of the accident left six individuals with varying degrees of injuries. These victims were swiftly transported to Kwara State General Hospital for immediate medical attention, under the hospital’s Chief Medical Director’s supervision, highlighting the situation’s urgency.

Fortunately, we can confirm that, as of now, there have been no fatalities as a result of this unfortunate incident.

Saliu Mustapha steps in for victims

To alleviate the burden on the affected families, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District, has stepped forward to cover the medical bills incurred by these individuals.

According to a statement by AbdulRahman Abdulkadir Babatunde, a Legislative Aide to Senator Saliu Mustapha, this generous gesture has been delivered to the concerned parties and the hospital management.

Senator Saliu Mustapha also thanks the medical team for their quick and professional response to the emergencies.

He expresses his well wishes and prayers for the speedy recovery of the victims.

In his message, Senator Saliu Mustapha urges relevant stakeholders, particularly members of the motorcycle associations, to exercise restraint and prioritize safety on the roads.

The statement concluded by adding that the public will be kept informed of further developments as they occur.
