Ahead of the July 8 by-election in the Osun west senatorial district, security agencies in the state have vowed to deploy the full arsenal of the law to ensure peaceful processes of the election.
The state commissioner of Police, Olafimihan Adeoye expressed his command’s commitment to making the forthcoming election a huge success at an interactive section with stakeholders at the police headquarters in Osogbo.
The CP believes that best approach of enforcement is to secure the willing cooperation of the people and wants the stakeholders to key into the vision of the security agencies.
He noted that all the stakeholders have all involved in election processes and conversant with the rule of the game just as he warned that the full weigh of the law will be applied in case of defiance.
The Director, Department of State Security, DSS, Maɗuagwuna Ifeanyi told the political parties to submit the details of their campaign programmes to the security agencies as this will help to forestall clashes.
He implored them to educate their members and supporters on the need to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
The by-election is to fill the void created by the death of Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke in the national Assembly.
