A Non-Govermental Organisation, Leadership Appraisal Forum, has forwarded a petition to the Kwara state Commisoner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, over alleged assault on Mr. Ogundokun Saheed and three other persons by Hon. Ganiyu Abolarin and Hon. Razaq Owolabi both representing Isapa/Ekiti and Share/Oke-odo respectively at the state House of Assembly.
In the petition, copy of which was made available to THE INFORMAT247 on Thursday in Ilorin, and jointly signed by the group’s Director of Human Rights and the Director Media and Publicity, urged the police headquaters to embark on an exclusive and urgent investigation into the matter.
“Mr. Ogundokun Saheed and three other persons (victims) all of Sir Abbey road, Awolowo street, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State reported a case of infringement on their fundamental human rights, threat to life, assault and attempted murder against the two members, Kwara State House of Assembly namely: Ganiyu Abolarin, representing Isapa/Ekiti and Owolabi Razaq representing Share/Oke odo respectively and urge us as human rights body to seek redress under law. On their behalf we write your esteem office for urgent investigation into the matter,”
“The affected law makers lead about eight political thugs to attack the victim and his friends at about 11pm. They forced their ways in, removed the burglary of the window and entered through the window. They attacked Mr. Ogundokun and his friends, assaulted, harassed, beat and injured them. In the process, Mr. Ogundokun sustained serious injury with his tooth removed as a result of the severe assault against him,”
“Thereafter, they were taken to “F” Division, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State by using their security detail. At the police station, Mr. Ogundokun lost consciousness, he was taken to Anchor Medical hospital, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State where his consciousness recovered by the medical practioners who attended to him. He was later taken to “F” Division in the middle of the night, arrested and detained with his three other friends but later released the following day. For further medical treatment, Mr. Ogundokun was admitted to an hospital for days,”
They recalled how senator Elisha Abbo assaulted a lady at a sextoy shop in Abuja and further called on the Police Commisoner to follow the Inspector-General’s step by immediately swinging into action.

No one is above the law!
We also urge you to use your good office and cause an investigation into this case of lawlessness act perpetrated by these lawmakers and bring them to book to serve deterrent to other leaders.”
