All is seem to be set for the launch of Digital switch over in kwara state as National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) kick start it’s awareness campaign with higher institutions on 10th Nov 2017.
The exercise which has its as theme ” Sensitization and Advocacy on Digital Switch Over ” was held in university of Ilorin, drawing participants from various departments in the school. In line with the objective of the exercise, the participants were furnished with necessary digitization information particularly it’s inherent benefits.
The coordinator of the program, Mr Ariyo from Wellmeet Nigeria Ltd painstakingly detailed the difference and comparative advantage between the analogue and digital broadcasting.
According to him, unlike the analogue era where Tv household can only watch two free stations in Kwara state, digital era will provide the opportunity of watching 25-30 stations with high picture quality and sound. The transition he further added will serve as a source of revenue to the nation through efficient use of spectrum.
Abdulahi Jimoh, among the participants that spoke to desert antelope appreciated the commission for the choice of chosen kwara in the first phase, which in his word will not only offer more than 20 free tv but also provide employment opportunity through the entire broadcasting value chain.
