Saliu Mustapha flags off 2024 edition of annual WAEC, NECO, JAMB scholarship for constituents

In a bid to foster educational development in Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Saliu Mustapha has inaugurated the 2024 edition of the annual scholarship program, encompassing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registrations.

The initiative aims to support indigent and orphaned students across the senatorial district.

The flag-off ceremony, hosted at Socrates College in Aromoradu, Ilorin, saw Professor Binta Suleiman, the Coordinator of Saliu Mustapha Foundation Education Committee, representing the senator.

Prof. Suleiman disclosed that over two thousand students from the four local government areas and beyond would benefit from this educational support.

Congratulating the scholarship recipients, Prof. Suleiman urged them to stay focused, dedicated, disciplined, and committed to their educational pursuits.

She emphasized Senator Saliu Mustapha’s commitment to the educational development of his constituents and announced further plans to grant full scholarships to deserving students who excel in their academic endeavors.

The University lecturer highlighted the enduring impact of the scholarship, anticipating its positive contribution to the development of a well-educated and empowered constituency.

She conveyed Senator Mustapha’s message, encouraging the beneficiaries to work hard and become ambassadors of their families, the foundation, and Kwara State.

Comrade Yakub Ishowo, the Secretary of the Education Committee, provided guidelines for seamless student registration, emphasizing the opportunity the scholarship provides to achieve academic goals and dreams.

Recipients received their scholarships in their respective schools, as representatives of the Saliu Mustapha Foundation visited the schools to hand over awards to the principals and parents of the students.

Expressing gratitude, school principals and parents praised the Saliu Mustapha Foundation for the scholarships.

They acknowledged the senator’s dedication to ensuring grassroots communities benefit and called on other philanthropists to emulate Senator Saliu Mustapha’s impactful contributions to educational advancement.

Schools such as Community Secondary School, Ogele, Asa Local Government Area; Ogodo Community Secondary School, Ogodo, Aboto, Odo-Ode Ward, Asa Local Government Area; Government Day Secondary School, Fate, Ilorin; Muslim Model College School, Yakuba, Ilorin; Government Day Secondary School, Ilorin; Amule Secondary School, Ilorin; Okelele Secondary School, Ilorin; Government Day Senior Secondary School, Aboto-Oja, Asa Local Government; and GSS, Afon lauded Senator Saliu Mustapha’s initiative and prayed for further expansion of the scholarship to higher institutions.
