Mohbad: Fresh FM bans airplay of all songs under Marlian Records

Following the death of the fast-rising Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the management of a popular radio station in Ekiti State, Fresh FM 106.9, on Tuesday, banned the airplay of all songs under the banner of the Marlian Records label.

Oluwaseunfunmi Williams, theFresh FM’s Head of Production and Music Content, made the announcement in a statement made available to newsmen.

“Following the public outcry from the general public trialling the death of singer Mohbad. The alleged victimisation from different videos going viral and the involvement of members of his former record label, Marlian, owned by popular Nigerian artiste Naira Marley. #JusticeforMohbad,” the statement read.

Mohbad, an ex-signee of Marlian Records, died last Tuesday under mysterious circumstances.

The police on Monday set up a special investigative team to probe the singer’s death.

The team is expected to submit an interim report within two weeks.
