Ahead of the 2023 general election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Chairmen in Magaji Ngeri Constituency of Ilorin West Local Government, a core grassroots political group of 50 zonal Chairmen with the vision of restoring the eroding glory of Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, have formally endorsed Mallam Muktar Shagaya for his Federal House of Representatives ambition.
The five wards that made up of the constituency are; Magajingeri, Baboko, Oko Erin, Badari, Wara/Osin/Egbejila.
According to the Chairman of the group, Mallam Jimoh Abdulganiy Owonije, Magaji Ngeri zonal Chairmen, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) comprises vibrant Grassroots Leaders from each zone with common political persuasion distraught over the unprecedented decay in morale and infrastructures ravaging the Federal Constituency.
He disclosed this on Monday while leading the whole members of the team to pledge their solidarity for Mallam Shagaya, he said their actions poised to redress the devastation in the constituency arising from maladministration, lack of focus, and outright insincerity.
He continued “to drive our vision to fruition and after a holistic appraisal of all the potential House of Representatives aspirants under the APC, we have opted to queue behind Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya to take over in 2023. Our choice is devoid of myopic vision and ethnic colouration. We simply want the best for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituents”, he stressed.
While speaking, the Secretary, Comrade Idris Ayatullahi Ahmed said, “the group parades a grassroots foundation across the nooks and crannies of the Magaji Ngeri Constituency in Ilorin West Local Government with 50 zonal chairmen.
“The group is currently mobilizing eligible potential voters to enroll in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise and creating political awareness to checkmate voters’ apathy during elections”, he added.
In his remarks, the leading aspirant for the seat of House of Representatives in Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, Shagaya, appreciated the endorsement and pledged to run an all-inclusive leadership.
He requested undiluted support from the group while assuring them of quality representation.
