Tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd day of ‘feBUHARI’ is an historic day in the history of this Nation, more historic about this day is that, it would be a day where Nigerians would choose between the old order of ‘acute corruption and gross misappropriation’ of our commonwealth and a renewed path of retrieving our looted funds and protecting the keys to the vaults of our commonwealth, it’s left for well meaning Nigerians to choose between what they know is wrong and what they feel is right.
As a Kwaran, the home State of the embattled President of the Senate and the Director General of the Atiku Campaign Organization, Sen. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, a State he has always had in his pockets, not until a swing in pendulum orchestrated by the “Ó tó gé” mantra which is presently the most popular slogan in the Country, ably led by Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Kwara APC gubernatorial candidate. Kwara State is now being touted as a battle ground for the two (2) leading Presidential candidates, President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, most political analysts has tagged Kwara State as a close call, unpredictable, and an election that can swing either ways, I feel every well meaning Kwarans should vote enmass for President Muhammadu Buhari, some of my reasons would be elaborated below.
Firstly, on behalf of all well meaning Kwarans, I appreciate the ‘Father of the Nation’, President Muhammadu Buhari for the construction of Mokwa-Jebba-Bode Saadu road, which before the advent of this government was a death trap, Kwarans schooling in the Northern axis of this country utilizes the road, and they’ve been full of enconiums and prayers for Mr. President, farmers and merchants from Kwara North also enjoy the use of the road, as it links them to the State capital. Kwarans also duly appreciate the general maintenance works along Ilorin-Ganmo-Ajase Ipo road, installation of street lights on Ilorin-Ibadan expressway Geri-alimi Ilorin, and the rehabilitation of street lights on Ogbomosho-Ilorin road along Eyen korin. Why would well meaning Kwarans not vote for you?
If I fail to appreciate the deep and logical thoughts of the PMB’s led government under the Office of the Vice-president, for tackling the menace of unemployment by creating, funding, and sustaining the N-power program, thousands of Kwarans have benefited under the scheme, hence, reducing poverty, unemployment, and dependency ratio in the State. More laudable is the fact that the scheme has been free of politics and politicking, as against the practice of past governments, where only party men, party faithfuls, and their relatives have access to such schemes, all Kwarans say a big thank you to this government. The ongoing P-YES scheme is also a laudable initiative, and I’m quite sure that Kwarans would also be made top priority in the scheme. Hence, all well meaning Kwarans should be fully committed to moving to the ‘next level’ with Mr. President.
The trader moni is also a master stroke! In a country where most of the business it’s people engage in are small and medium scale businesses, and access to loan even with collateral is a problem, your government under your office orchestrated a collateral-free loan where small and medium size businesses can secure loans ranging from 10,000 naira to 50,000 naira. The idea to also introduce Market moni for small artisans who seeks to expand their business is laudable, they can get up to 100,000 naira under the scheme, while those under the Farmer moni schemes can get up to 300,000 naira, Kwarans have nothing to give apart from their thanks, prayers, and unwavering support at the polls come Saturday, February the 23rd.
The anchor’s borrowers program initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the PMB led government has increased agricultural productivity in the State, the people of Kwara North being the agricultural hub of the State has been the highest beneficiaries, other persons from other zones who accessed it also got it without any bias or favour. Agricultural processing has increased and Kwara farmers are now smiling to the banks, the periodic rolling out of tractors by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture has also aided the efficiency of our farmers, farm produce like rice, yam, maize, cassava, millet, and other produce are now bountiful in the State of Harmony. Kwara farmers can only extend their utmost appreciation to Mr. President by voting for enmass for him come Saturday.
This would be incomplete if I fail to show appreciation to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment of Kwarans into various strategic ministries, agencies and federal boards.
Lastly, on behalf of the poor masses, the ‘Mekunnuns and Talakawas’ who up till now, has always been the friend and solid rock behind Mr. President all these years, we promise to continually support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari through ‘thicks and thins’. May President Muhammadu Buhari win, may Nigeria be great and may Nigerians be the greatest beneficiaries!
