In a significant stride towards bolstering healthcare services, the Kwara State Government has introduced state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to the General Hospital in Offa.
The advanced machines, including Hematology Analyzer, Hormonal Profile Analyzer, and Electrolyte Analyzer, were supplied by the Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB) and are set to elevate the quality of care provided at the health facility.
These cutting-edge machines will facilitate essential diagnostic tests, eliminating the need for patients in Offa to travel to Ilorin for such services.
Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, the Executive Secretary of KW-HMB, affirmed that this advancement will substantially improve patient convenience and service efficiency.
Dr Malik added that the staff members responsible for operating these modern instruments underwent specialized training provided by the hospital management board.
According to Dr. Malik, this initiative showcases the commitment of the Kwara State Government to not only equip healthcare facilities with advanced technology but also ensure that healthcare professionals are well-prepared to utilize these resources effectively.
The Medical expert expressed that the ongoing dedication will enhance healthcare services in Offa and the surrounding areas.
He added that with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s approval, the hospital management board is poised to promptly replace medical professionals who leave the state’s services.
Addressing manpower shortages and elevating the level of care provided, Dr Malik said that the plan is in motion to deploy more doctors and nurses to the Offa General Hospital.
He expanciated that the allocation of 4 additional doctors and 15 extra nurses will complement the existing medical team, thereby bridging the gap in healthcare personnel and ensuring a comprehensive and well-staffed facility.
