No fewer than 500 constituents benefited from the free medical outreach sponsored by
Honourable Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, lawmaker representing Ilorin east vonstituency at the Kwara State house of Assembly.
The medical outreach which was held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Idi-ape,Ilorin provided free eye test, eye glasses, surgery, and medication to about 500 participants.
Over two hundred patients were administered eye glasses, Fifty-Nine patients will require surgery which will be conducted at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) in batches, while other were given free medications.
Speaking after the event, the Kwara lawmarker provided insight to the reason behind the initiative, emphasizing the importance of health care to the development of the society.
Hon. Arinola disclosed while planning for the event, she prepared to cater for the health needs of 300 patients but ended up attending to about 500 participants.
He stated; “I appreciate the dignitaries, stakeholders, health officials, and participants who attended the Hon. Arinola Medical Outreach at Alabi Alasa in Ilorin East Local Government Area.
“As the popular saying; “Health is Wealth, the outreach is aimed at providing free medical health care for the participants. It provided free eye tests, glasses, surgery, and medication for the participants.”
“Expected to provide health care to 300 participants from my constituency, we ended up providing health care to over four hundred patients who attended the program.”
“Fifty-nine patients required surgery operation, which will be conducted at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), over 200 were administered free glasses, and others were given free medications.”
The lawmarker encouraged the the participants to prioritize their health condition to build a fulfilled life.
She advised; “After the outreach, I charged the participant to take responsibility for their health situation. I emphasized the importance of having a healthy body as the foundation for a fulfilling and meaningful life.”
“By taking proactive steps to prioritize our health, we not only enhance our own quality of life but also contribute to the development of our communities.”
The participants appreciated the gesture from the lawmarker, emphasizing the impact to an healthy and meaning community to the vulnerable ones.
