There was a brief moment of drama at the Nigeria Senate Chamber earlier today when a ministerial nominee and ex-Honourable Minister of Culture&Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed told an amused members of the Senate to disregard the growing cynical attempts by Social media commenter to misrepresent his name for “liar” Mohammed instead of the correct pronunciation of Lai Mohammed.
The Oro-born astute politician from Kwara State made the submission while on the podium for his nomination as a federal minister for the second time in a row.
Alhaji Lai said he was earlier unaware of this personality attack on the social media before his seven year-old grandchild called his attention to it.
“Mr. President, I wish to call your attention to something in my CV. My name is Lai Mohammed as it’s written there. Unlike how people called it on the social media.
“I was surprised when my seven year old grandchild called my attention to commentaries on the social media misconstruing my name as Liar instead of Lai Mohammed”. He said.
Recall that THE INFORMANT247 has earlier reported that Alhaji Mohammed was accompanied to the screening by several states party leaders including the State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Senator Ajibola Simon amongst other All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Meanwhile the three senators from Kwara State, Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe (Central) Senator Sadiq Umar (Kwara North) and Senator Lola Ashiru (Kwara South) spoke glowingly of the Oro-born Lawyer for his contributions to the party victories at the polls in 2019.
