The Kwara State command of the police force has confirmed the arrest of a nigerian senator, Rafiu Ibrahim.
The senator who was arrested a day to the general election in which he is seeking a return to office, was invited for questioning following allegations that he orchestrated a violence that broke out in Ojoku, Kwara State, four days ago.
According to Premium Times, the Kwara police spokesperson Ajayi Okasanmi said, “We invited him for questioning on Thursday, and he was with us for several hours,”
While Mr Ibrahim’s associates said he remained in custody as of Friday morning, Mr. Okasanmi said he was unsure whether or not Mr Ibrahim, representing Kwara South Senatorial District, had been released.
Recall that the PDP has early Friday morning raised alarm over the arrest of it Senatorial candidate.
