The Leadership of the Nigerian youth Parliament on Friday 14th December, 2018 passed a vote of confidence on Dr. Dakuku Peterside and the management of NIMASA on the growth and development of the blue economy.
This joint vote was issue between the apex youth legislative body in Nigeria and the Secretariat of Zero Tolerance for Social Immoralities Initiative ZETSI Africa at the end of a one day event in Abuja.
The leader of the Nigerian Youth Parliament Hon.Umar Etudaye(Kogi Central) and the chairman house committee on maritime, Hon.Muhammad Isah Lado(Niger South) both lauded the efforts of the Director General and the management. He expressed their unalloyed confidence as a result of the overall growth recorded in the agency especially in the Areas of enhanced security through the integrated security infrastructure and surveillance initiative and high revenue generation.
The President of ZETSI Africa comrade Abdulrazak Jeje and other youth participants at the event also hailed the apex maritime regulatory agency for its wonderful initiatives aimed at consolidating the federal government agenda of economic diversification.
The leader of the Parliament further assured the Director General of its resolve to continue to demonstrate her unending solidarity to the management for better performance particularly in the area of advocating and pushing for the speedy passage of the anti-piracy bill to help contain illegal activities on the waterways.
He also commended the management for training not less than 700 young cadets and preparing them to be certified sailors, adding that it will go a long way to reduce unemployment in the country as well help the agency achieve her mandate.
