The crises rocking the Apex indigenous student body in Kwara State has today been resolved after a reconcilation move by notable stakeholders of the Association.
The suspended president was yesterday reinstated by the Judicial Council of the Association in an alternative dispute resolution tagged plea bargain.
However, in what ealier seems to be a knack on the reconcilation moves, the senate council rejected the resolution of the judicial council but later affirmed it after hours of close door meeting between the principal officers of the senate.
Inside sources revealed that the president was placed on condition by both the Senate council to accept the suspension, which he had earlier disclaimed, and also ensure he abide by some certain conditions which the sources did not disclose to our correspondent for security reasons.
A close source who also pleaded anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the issue said the president had earlier been placed on condition before the Judicial council commence it reinstatement process. He continued, “Today, the reconcilation move was finalized by two notable stakeholders, all executives members and some senators who placed the reinstatement of the president on some condition which the president agreed to. Before now, the Director-General, Welfare Director and Treasurer were with him but later left to obey the senate resolution, he was not having even an executive member with him, before he was eventually considered for reinstatement in a plea bargain. After the reconcilation, he apologized to everybody and appreciated the efforts of key stakeholders involved in the issue. As I speak to you now, NAKSS is no longer having issues. We are now after our bursary so that the students can benefit from it”
When contacted by our correspondent, the Publicity Secretary, Salihu Ayatullahi affirmed that the president has resumed duty after accepting the suspension given to him by the Senate council on misappropriation of funds.
“Yes, the issue has been resolved and the president has today resumed duty. He had to respect the senate resolution on the suspension but challenge it process at the Judicial Council, however the Judicial Council apply an alternative dispute resolution tagged ‘plea bargain’ to resolve the issue in a close door meeting held today, after which both parties agreed that the suspended president should resumes duty as president” -Salihu said.
Efforts to get more detail prooved abortive as he said a press statement will be release on it soon.
Recall that the president had earlier been placed on an indefinite suspension over alledge misapropriation of some funds, however he denied the allegations and has since cause some rancour between officers of the Association.
