The Victory is Glory to God – Alumni President
The Kwara State University (KWASU) Alumni association has inaugurated its new set of executives, this was as the President-elect, Comrade Abdulkadir Bolaji Uthman, popularly known as ‘Dan Phodio” dedicated his victory in the Alumni polls to God.
The event was held at the University’s main campus auditorium had in attendance the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’allah, and other dignitaries was well attended by friends, families, and well wishers alike.
In his inaugural speech, Comrade Abdulkadir Bolaji Uthman thanked the Vice Chancellor for his exemplary leadership, and appreciated Mr. Damilare Peter Oyinloye, the past Alumni President, for a peaceful and credible elections.
Part of the speech read: “First and foremost, I want to appreciate God Almighty for his mercies and support during the
process of Kwara State University Alumni Election.
“May I also appreciate my family, friends, leaders, stakeholders and other well wishers for their dedication and outstanding contributions.
He also appreciated all those that took out time from their busy schedules to vote for him, “It’s pertinent to appreciate all well meaning alumnus of the University who took their time out of tight
schedules to vote for us. We team in achieving standard and creating more values for our University.
He said that he was happy that the elections conducted didn’t sow seeds of discord and promised to work with all and sundry, “With elections come rifles and discords, and in extreme cases, loss of lives. I am glad we experienced no
such thing here at the KWASU Alumni Association, we have proven to be intellectuals.
‘Yet for every unsaid grief, and every discord burning silently under the grass, I promise to work together with my executives, to find it out and settle these things amicably.
The Vice Chancellor admonished the executives to be good ambassadors of the school, support the school, and be agents of integrity and transparency.
