Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Mallam Lukman Olayiwola has called on Kwarans to prioritise unity and oneness of purpose for development to take place in the state.
Mustapha who is the Chairman of the award-winning radio station, SOBI 101.9FM made this call during a brief interview he granted journalists at the Annual Iftar/dinner program organised by Coremates Ilorin.
Mallam Lukman said it was high time the people of Kwara state realised that the state development should be prioritised before sentiments and affiliations.
While speaking, Lukman said only unity and togetherness could bring about purposeful governance and development for the State of Harmony.
“I am delighted to be here again. It’s a good thing our people are seated here to discuss development of the state without minding the political divides.
It’s noteworthy we realised politics have passed and our people should close ranks to give room for peace and unity”. He remarked.
Lukman went further to advocate for support for political and spiritual leaders noting that the people should encourage them to deliver on their promises.
The program was the 30th of its kind organised by COREMATES Ilorin. It’s a social club peopled by Ilorin indigents conceived to tackle societal menace and advancement of community development.
This year event had in attendance amongst others dignitaries All Progressives Congress Publicity Secretary, Mallam Issa- Onilu, Dr. Amuda Kannike, Hon. Ali Ali Amuda Jimoh, Alhaji Duro Suleiman, IEDPU Alhaji Y. A Ahmed.
The occasion was chaired by Prof. S.A Kuranga, Former Chief Medical Officer University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin.
The keynote speaker Dr. Ali Ahmed- Hameed enjoined Kwarans to be constructive in their criticisms so as to nudge the leaders in the right direction.
The Sobi FM boss felicitated with the Emir of Ilorin, the Governor and entire kwarans on the auspicious occasion of Eid-l-Kabir.
