Heart Attack: Samuel Kalu Fits to Play For Super Eagles
It is quite a good news for both Super Eagles and Bordeaux as the the 21-year-old’s dehydration concerns have not degenerated into a complicated ailment following an alleged report that the 21-year-old Bordeaux attacker collapsed during a training session on Friday as a result of heart attack.
But contrary to the report, Samuel Kalu has been given the all-clear to return to training with Nigeria following a dehydration problem, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced on Monday.
His health issue had sprung up a severe atmospheric tension and fright in the Nigerian Camp in Cairo when he was reported to have suddenly collapsed in training on Friday ahead of Burundi clash.
However, after a series of test conducted in a hospital at Cairo revealed the Bordeaux talisman is in a sound condition to play for the Super Eagles.
“Kalu has been declared fit to play as from now. His featuring in Wednesday’s match against Guinea, however, depends on if he is picked by the technical crew led by Coach Gernot Rohr,” a brief NFF statement read.
The development has allayed the fears of the Nigeria’s Technical Crew and it affords them ample selection options in their bid to clinch the African most prestige championship.
Also, Kalu and Nigerians will heave a sigh of relief to hear that he is fit to start training again.
The 21-year-old attacker is vital to Nigeria’s qualification for the tournament, playing as a wing back during the qualifiers rounds.
