…says student to be evacuated on Saturday.
The Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Bilkisu Oniyangi has condemned the demostration embarked on by students of the Government Secondary School, Ilorin over poor welfarism by Kwara state government.
Oniyangi in a chat message on WhatsApp group of “Political Analyst” obtained by The Informant247, said the students decision “to go on street” is not only condemable but also “bad culture” known of the school.
“I need nt (sic.) save my office. If we goofed say it as it is but pls dont report lies. (sic.). Welfare – the health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group. Pls what has dat (sic.) got to do with children misbehaving and asking to be transported home by force.”
“I did not hear dat (sic.) it is a bad culture synonymous with the school which must be brought to an end”, she questioned.
Contrary to the students’ agitations on lack of electricity, qauality food and hostel facilities, the commissioner insisted that the students only wanted to be transported back home “by force” which is condemable.
It will be recalled that The Infromant247 had reported that the students of the Government Secondary School, Ilorin yesterday took to the street to protest the negligence of the state government towards their welfarism.
The students who barricaded the major highway in old Jebba road, Ilorin expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of their welfarism.
Speaking with the Informant247 correspondent who visited the school, one of the senior student who is on “exchange program” but craved anonymity said, “During school session, we don’t have good food, no portable water, it has been over a year we last have electricity, Now that they should take us home, they said the state does not have money, and they have stopped feeding us as well, how do they expect us to survive?” The Hausa student questioned.
However, the ministry of Education in an official press statement said preparations for the planned evacuation of the students back to their families in the 18 other northern states will begin next Tuesday while the actual movement will commence as scheduled on Saturday, December, 21st, 2018.
