Ahead of the general elections, the Kwara State Police Command has commenced mass raid of criminal hideouts across the state to dislodge criminals.
In a press statement released by the police PRO, Dsp Ajayi Okasanmi and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital today, the the commisoner of police gave the directives “of raids of criminal hideouts, emplacement of robust patrols, clearing the streets of inflammable materials such as used tyres, adequate security of public utilities, government facilities, INEC offices across the state and 24hourly aggressive situation reports of patrols of the streets.”
The statement reads, “Rising from an expanded meeting of Heads of Departments, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers(DPO), of the Kwara State Police Command today, the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, Cp Kayode Egbetokun commended the officers and men of the Command for their unalloyed commitment and loyalty to duty, especially in preparation for the postponed election”
“The Commissioner of Police charged the officers to continue in that spirit and even do more. He reiterated the fact that, it is not over until it is over, as the election rescheduled for 23/2/2019 will serve as a yardstick with which the Command will be assessed, hence no stone must be left unturned in the onerous task of ensuring the safety of lives and property of Kwara residents and the provision of adequate security for the postponed election.”
“Finally, the Commissioner of Police assured members of the public of their safety at all times while advising potential law breakers to refrain from any untoward acts, as offenders will be arrested and be made to face the wrath of the law.”Elecrions: Police commence raid of criminal hideouts in Kwara
