Profile of Salihu Yakubu Danladi
Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi hails from Gwanara in Ilesah-Baruba/Gwanara State Constituency, Baruten LG.
He was born on May 31, 1985. The young Lawmaker-elect attended St. Anthony Secondary School, Ilorin and proceeded to Kaduna Polytechnic where he earned HND in Elect/Elect Power and Machine (Upper Credit).
Hon. Salihu Danladi’s flair for education led him to Federal University of Technology, Minna where he studied electrical/electronic Engineering. He graduated with Second Class Upper.
Upon graduation, he worked at National Water Resources Institute, Kaduna from 2009 to 2010. The vibrant young man was employed by Federal University of Technology, Minna in 2010 but voluntarily resigned in 2018 to contest APC primary elections.
Although, he is young but not new in Kwara state politics, he served as Youth Coordinator for 2011 Buhari Campaign Organization under CPC (Kwara North Senatorial District). He also coordinates Youth activities for Engr Yinusa Yahaya Campaign Organization under PDP in 2015.
He served in different positions for National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) during his undergraduate days.
Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi is a team play, resourceful, intelligent and goal getter.
The Kwara State House of Assembly Speaker hopeful is commited muslim and happily married with one child.
His Legislative Agenda
During the electioneering campaign, he said his mission at House Assembly to introduce bills/motions that will have impact of people in his constituency for overall development of Kwara State.
”To provide excellent output as an within a team for better representation of my constituency and our great party”. He stated.
In a recent chat with newsmen, the lawmaker-elect for Ilesha-Baruba Gwanara State Constituency advocated for adoption of participatory budgeting system in Nigeria.
Hon Danladi said the participatory budgeting system will bring government closer to the citizenry, ensure delivery of impactful projects and give them dividends of democracy.
According to him, Participatory budgeting should be adopted by State and Federal governments to encourage active involvement of the people in governance. It will also create platform for democratic deliberation and decision-making, in which ordinary people decide how to allocate part of public budget.
The Kwara Assembly Speaker Hopeful therefore urged the 9th National Assembly and other stakeholders to pass bill in this regard.
He also advised the executive arm to always carry along legislature while preparing budget to ensure smooth passage and avoid unnecessary delay.
”It’s high time the executive arm involves legislature during budget preparation stage in order to ensure timely passage. By the grace of God I will champion this in Kwara State in the interest of our people. ”. The lawmaker added
