Court didn’t nullify Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s candidature -Barr. Senior Sulyman
Following the ruling of an Ilorin High Court affirming the Balogun-Fulani led APC as the authentic party excecutive in the state, an Abuja based Ilorin born human right activist, and aspirant for Ilorin Central House of Assembly Constituency under the platform of All Progressives Congress, Barr. Senior Sulyman has reacted to the interpretation of the Court’s ruling on Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq candidature.
Q. What can you say on the recent ruling of an high court invalidating the BOB led executives of the All Progressive Congress
A. Though have not been privileged to go through the detailed judgment purportedly ousting the Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa led caretaker committee in Kwara State, but from what I have read online about it, and the privileged Information of a notice of Appeal and an application for injunction/stay of execution pending appeal, though a judgment is presumed valid until set_aside; it ceases to be operative unless and until application for injunction/stay of execution is heard and determined.
Q. Do you feel your party members should now support the Balogun-Fulani candidates
A. From the foregoing, in law and in fact the B.O.B led caretaker Exco of the APC is authentic until the application is decided unless; I am hereby appealing to Party faithfuls and supporters not to lose sleep, as the Ishola Balogun Fulani group are obvious agents of the ruling party in the state fuelled to stir controversies in our darling party, a ploy which is archaic and has failed.
Q. How does this ruling affects your party flagbearers?
A. It is worthy of mentioning for the purpose of clarity, the judgment does not by any stretch of imagination remove our Gubernatorial or any other candidates for the 2019 polls as being insinuated by rumour peddlers.
I urge our teeming supporters to continue to be committed and resilient, as that is the price they have to pay for the liberation of Kwara.
Q. What’s your position on the òtògè slogan adopted by your party
A. On the issue of campaign slogan, I will like to plead with KWASA to dessist from using the name of our revered traditional institutions to play partisan politics.
In addition if nothing is wrong with “continuity”, I don’t think any thing is wrong with “enough is enough”; though when history is about to be made, we can not rule out petty distractions like the one at hand.
Q. Your message to party faithfuls
A. Finally, contrary to expections on the other side of the table, we have come out of the party primaries stronger and better. The unity of purpose and cohesion is increasing day in, day out because all the aspirants at various levels have a common denominator . i.e we are all people that believes Kwara as it is is not enjoying the best of governance and consequently can be governed better than those presently at the helms of affairs.
Incidentally, the believe is coming at a period when majority of Kwarans share a similar view. I urge all Kwarans to vote for APC candidates at all levels. Thanks
