The Minister of information and tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who also doubles as the APC leader in Kwara State has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State would win the Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly elections in Kwara with higher margin than the Presidential and National Assembly polls.
He said this after a meeting with the party leaders from the 16 local government areas in the state, where a review of the past elections and strategy on how to garner more votes in the Saturday’s governorship and state assembly polls was discussed. He also urged the people to disregard threats by the opposition to disrupt the Gubernatorial elections, and assured of adequate security protection.
In his words: “We have been hearing a lot of things that they have imported a lot of thugs to Kwara to disrupt the Saturday’s elections.
“If anyone does so, he or she will be risking his or her life.
“We are appealing to our people that the Federal Government is going to provide adequate security for all,” he said.
It would be recalled that the acclaimed political leader in the State and President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lost his seat to another medical doctor, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, in what many political analysts describe as a shocker.
