President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the security officials to be ruthless with thugs and anyone found attempting rig next Saturday’s presidential election.
Buhari also said that he would ensure that the postponement of the elections by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was investigated after the conclusion of the general election.
The president who spoke during the meeting of the national caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Monday said there was no justification for what he described as incompetence exhibited by INEC.
President Buhari’s charge came just as the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, said the party would be pushing for a probe of what led to the sudden decision by INEC to postpone last Saturday’s presidential election.
Oshiomhole accused the election umpire of working in cahoots with the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by sharing relevant information about the shifting of polls hours before the decision was made public.
