…INEC turns down withdrawal
The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) has disown their presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili who earlier today declare her withrawal from the presidential race.
In a document obtained by THE INFORMANT247 and jointly signed by party chairman, Alhaji Buba Galadima, and Secretary, Chief Paul Isamade declared their supports for president Muhammadu Buhari who is seeking re-election bid.
“If you will observe, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; is the only presidential candidate who was so militant in her campaign without any tangible thing on the ground to indicate any
seriousness in the persecution of her campaign. No campaign secretariat, billboard of
great commitment on the ground to indicate any seriousness.”
Declaring support for Buhari’s re-election bid, they said, “It is on this ground that the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) is
withdrawing support for her presidential aspiration and endorsing the second term
bid of President Muhammadu Buhari to take Nigeria to the next level.”
However, the withdrawal of Oby Ezekwesili, presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) for the 2019 presidential race has been rejected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the electoral body, there is an electoral act which stipulates that a candidate would only withdraw from the race no less that 45 days to the date of elections.
