YOUR WASTE WOULD BE TURNED TO WEALTH, AJIA ASSURE KKWARANS..
The rave of the moment, Dr. Abdulmumin Yinka Hajia, who’s the ANRP gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State, has made another bold statement of intent to reform and transform the state waste management into money making venture and avenue for job opportunities.
The cerebral Hajia, who has been consistently present in every gubernatorial debate in the state to sell his ideas, was present yet again at another one organised by The Kwara Coalition Of Business And Professional Associations ( KWACOBPA) in conjunction with NEDG & CIPE tagged : 2019 Kwara Governorship Debate that held on Tuesday Jan. 24, 2019 at the famous Hall A, Kwara Hotels Ilorin.
While the APC’s Abdulrahman Abdulrazak and PDP’s Hon. Razak Atunwa failed to show up like in the last three similar occasions, Labour Party’s Comrade Issa Aremu and ADC’s Issa Manzuma took turns to wow the audience with their brilliance and experience to showcase their capacity to govern them state when elected.
Dr. Hajia, when replying to the poser on how he would tackle the issues of waste management that has started casting the state capital in blind light responded that he had already devised an holistic measure to tackle the waste issues and even make economic gains out of it.
According to him, ” We are aware that Kwara State is very dirty now. The unsightly sight of the vicinity in some areas is not only unsavoury but unhealthy. This is why we have resolved to see to the issues of waste management ”.
He said, ” We plan to partner with private sector to collect the trash, provide a dedicated dump site where the waste would be deposited. We have proposed the hours of 10pm to 6am everyday for the disposal of the waste and dirt daily by the waste managers. This private outfit would be saddled with the employment of the interested youth to work in the day-to-day running of the agency and the waste site thereby creating an improved job opportunities.”
As for creating wealth, he said ” We can make money from waste when we extract things that are valuable to be recycled and also use some of these wastes for manure, which is even proven healthier than fertilizer for our farm products. This is not impossible for a serious and wilful government”.
Nevertheless, Dr. Hajia appealed to the good people of Kwara State to give him the mandate to serve them in the next four years and see that Kwara can truly work for all regardless of ethnicity, tribalism and religion, using justice and fairness as guiding principles.
