As part of his human capital development drive, Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Bamidele Adegoke on Tuesday, 14, August empowered 176 people with N5, 000 each from all districts in Oke Ero Local Government.
Exactly 11 persons (both males and females) were randomly selected from each ward in Oke-Ero. Leaders’ Women Association also benefited from the empowerment.
Hon. Bamidele disclosed that the token given to people is part of the dividends of democracy, and it’s a way of appreciating people of Oke-Ero Local Government for the support given to the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki and the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatai Ahmed.
He stated: It is very important to extend our helping hands to Muslim faithful for the sake of upcoming Eid elKabir. I’m however using this opportunity to urge people to stand firm and to continue throwing their weight behind the Senate President, Sen. Bukola saraki and the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatai Ahmed, these are the leaders that knows the way and they cannot mislead us.
” Without a shadow of doubt, you have proved yourselves over and over again that you stand with our Leader, Senator Bukola Saraki. Looking at this commitment, I decided to organize this empowerment for you especially now that the Ileya festival is near.
”I know this is not enough, but it is a way of saying ‘thank you’ for standing by our great party.
“For those of you yet to be empowered, this is not the end of the road. I want you to know that we have done some during the new yam festival this is another phase of empowerment in larger scale and more will take place very soon, so; it is turn by turn due to the huge financial commitment involved, we cannot empower everybody at the same time, which is why I implore you to be patient and committed”.
Speaking at the empowerment programme, Mr. Awoleye Sunday, Chairman of Ayedun Ward who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries gladly expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Goke and all the party faithful for their immense support.
He however appreciated Hon. Bamidele for keeping to his word on the empowerment and for being a good ambassador of Saraki’s dynasty.
The Beneficiaries whose excitement cannot be measured across the wards of Oke-Ero song melodiously with eulogy to applaud the effort of the Commissioner.
Iya Aafin, H.R. Asaolu, Women Leader of Oke-Ero who spoke to Media Agent, described Hon. Commissioner as a selfless political office holders whose efforts has impacted many lives positively and she reaffirmed that his supporters shall continue to give him unflinching support at all time.
The event which took place in Iloffa, had in attendance youths, women, community elders, chieftains, dignitaries, political icon and other notable personalities, among which were Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Anthony Idowu, Elder, Olaniyan Former Council Chairman, Hon. Michael Ajamu Supervisor to Councilors among others. Forum and Associations which includes, Leaders’ Women Association were also in attendance.
Recall that Hon. Bamidele during the event of 2018 annual yam festival celebration as reported by The Informant247, where he empowered in cash one hundred members of the Oke-Ero community with sum of N5, 000 each, promised more empowerment and other community development programme.
