A student of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Kastina was yesterday reported to have been shot died along the Abuja -Kaduna road.
The decesaed, Shehu Muhammad Alaka, who hailed from Ilorin was said to be returning home from Abuja when his bus was ambushed by armed robbers and in the process of their robbery was fatally shot.
He was said to be a former P.R.O. of Ilorin Emirate Student Union and a member of the electoral committee of NAKSS last convention.
However, while reacting to this incidence, the National Association of Kwara State Student in a statement released by the union’s publicity secretary, Comr. Salihu Ayatullahi, decribed it as saddened and unexpected.
“It is with deep heart and great grief that the National leadership of the National Association of Kwara State Student announce the death of Shehu Muhammad Kamaldeen (Alaka) a student of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Kastina.”
“The deceased, also a former National P.R.O of Ilorin Emirate Student Union, was said to have died along Abuja-Kaduna road yesterday, July 19, 2018 after being attacked by armed Robbers.”
They further described him as “a very diligent, humble and dedicated member of the union which prompted him being appointed as a member of the 2018 NAKSS ELCOM.”
“We also call on the necessary authorities to as a matter of urgency swing to action so as to prevent further unnecessary loss of life.”
