A Gubernatorial aspirant in the forthcoming 2019 election, Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting entrepreneurial development in the state.
Seriki made this disclosure, during the PVC sensitization programme organised by the Okekere Political Youth Association, while encouraging an upcoming artiste to continue to have the zeal of getting to the peak of his career in the nearest future.
He emphasised that the problem of unemployment in the country is as a result of youths high expectations of getting a government employment after school not actually thinking of its implications on the society.
He noted that he has never worked for the government, or as an official, nor has he ever been awarded a contract by any government, and the motives behind presenting himself as the next governor of the state is to encourage the youth to think outside the box and wake up to face the reality of today instead of being used by some set of politicians.
In his address, he lauded the efforts of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, for his commendable representations at the senate, and urges all the recently appointed constituency aides to work out the modalities of ensuring they give the senate president the true image of the situations of people in his constituency.
One of the ABS constituency directors, Alhaji Yahaya Sulyman while addressing the youths enlightened them on the many importance of PVC.
He said, “There is no professional politician, Everybody can join. It is not a course of study in any institution but the mindset to change the situation of things should warrant it”
He further advised the youth to get their PVC, which, according to him, is a very powerful weapon in the current democratic form of government that Nigeria is practising today.
However, Seriki donated a sum of N50,000 to support the young upcoming artiste, and further promised to support him in every possible way he can. He gave a sum of N300,000 to the movement as a way of supporting them in the course of enlightening the youths, which he considered very necessary at a very critical period like this.
He gave the women, youths and ward Excos N50,000 respectively.
