The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lampooned the All Progressives Congress, APC for its latest reckless and undesirable statement on the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, issued by the party’s spokesperson, Yekini Nabena.
The party in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Tunde Ashaolu, said the APC is faced with so much challenges that it should be concerned with rather than casting aspersions on Saraki.
“We advise the APC to face the confusion and troubles generated by the compromised conduct of the party’s primaries across the country rather than go into a frenzy over the outcome of the PDP presidential primary election.
“It is utterly shameful and unfortunate that a party that prides itself as a ‘progressive party’ could not organize peaceful, acceptable and rancour-free primary elections in different parts of the country.
It, therefore, amounts to misplaced priority for such a party to poke nose into the affairs of another party. This also shows that the party has ran out of ideas.”
The statement further noted that the Senate President is not “in any way worried by the outcome of the PDP presidential primaries, which he demonstrated in his speech after the election on Sunday.”
It said: “Saraki had already declared that he and other presidential aspirants of the PDP are ready to walk and work with the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to emerge victorious in the 2019 general elections and dislodge the APC government.”
The Kwara PDP, therefore, urged President Muhammad Buhari and the APC to start preparing their exit from Aso Rock, stressing that Nigerians are ready to send them packing in 2019, as they can no longer tolerate the hardship and poverty the APC government has caused them.
The party also noted that the Senate President would not be distracted or disturbed by the irresponsible and sustained vicious attacks on his person and office by the APC and its agents, adding that he would continue to effectively discharge his duties for which he was duly elected.
It also noted that the APC would continue to fail in its perpetual and desperate efforts to impeach the Senate President, stressing that Saraki cannot be impeached by mere wishful thinking of some deranged and hallucinating folks within the APC.
