At least 12 people had lost their lives when a boat capsized at Chewuru port, Lafiagi, Edu local government area of Kwara State on Thursday.
The cause of the fatal accident remained unknown till press time, but witnesses disclosed that the boat has been heavily overloaded.
As at the time of filing this report the number of passengers on board could not be ascertained.
